EVDP 2008 CONFERENCE

“New Tools of the Trade: Take Your Organization to the Next level”
Featuring Kile Ozier, Kim Klein (webinar), and James Dean

March 3rd, 2008 - 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Center for Meeting and Learning, Bldg #19
Lane Community College, Eugene, OR

Keynote: “New Trends in Fundraising”
by Kile Ozier

Addressing the deluge of information and pleas for attention and resource that inundate our target audiences, Ozier incorporates Physiology, Biology, Cultural Anthropology, Instinct, Anecdote and a dash of Sarcasm into the development of his methodologies for creating effective, compelling Experience. Examining common practices among today’s “StorySellers” in marketing, advertising and fundraising, we’ll take a look at what works, what doesn’t, and why in such a way as to apply to resonant initiatives for any size agency or institution.

Workshop: “Okay, But What About Us: How Do We Use this Information?”
with Kile Ozier

Bring your communications and fundraising challenges to this post-keynote workshop, and we’ll examine them, case-by-case and see if we can evolve methods for reaping a greater effectiveness to effort ratio. Candor and questions are welcomed, as we participate in addressing one another’s cases. One never knows from whence the answer will arise; though, using the tools and methodologies articulated in the Keynote, we may come up with some unique approaches that might not have seemed obvious, before – likely because the owners of the “problem” are merely too close to it. This will be high-energy and, hopefully, effective; otherwise, Ozier sleeps in his car, Monday night.

Webinar & Workshop: Asking for Money in Person: Psychology and Logistics
Featuring Kim Klein

In this new, fast paced webinar, Kim Klein will help you get over your anxiety about asking for money and will take you through a step by step process for approaching individuals for large gifts in person. Most helpful for people new to the process of asking, and highly advised as a training for board members and volunteers about to embark on a fundraising campaign.

Immediately after the webinar, there will be a workshop that focuses on putting these skills to practical use.
